First, I am very grateful that Chili's honors Veterans with a free meal on Veterans Day. Not many places do. Thank you Chili's!

Red Residue On The INSIDE Of The Margarita Glass

Second, 16 ounce margaritas are $3.50 all day, every day ... woo-hoo! However, the server forgot to bring mine until I reminded her about 15 minutes after ordering and after taking a couple sips I noticed that the glass was dirty, it had remnants of the last customer's strawberry daiquiri!

Third, the food is very average, exactly what you would expect from a large chain. We had the Crispy Cheese Bites ($5.99) as a starter. They were a little overcooked (burnt) and spicy. Not bad, but not worth $6. I had the Oldtimer Cheeseburger ($8.79) which was on the "free Veterans Day meal menu" and asked if I could add bacon and avocado. The server told me I could, but when the check came, I was charged full-price for my "free" burger. 

My wife had the Oreo Topped Molten Cake ($7.49), but it was no more than a piece of sponge cake with a single scoop of vanilla ice cream drizzled with hot fudge and what looked like a single Oreo crumbled on top. Hardly worth $7.50 if you ask me.

In conclusion, my "free" meal was not free until I reminded the server and there was not an apology for the disgusting margarita glass I drank from (hopefully, the previous customer did not have a communicable disease). Otherwise, our meal was unremarkable ... but my burger was free and I appreciate the thought!
