The leftover film set from the Popeye movie, filmed in 1980 starring newcomer Robin Williams, is now a Malta tourist attraction and theme park minus the rides.
If you have a couple hours, at most, to kill, it is a charming diversion for film buffs and children of all ages.

We were met by Giullia at the park entrance, a lovely and kind Sicilian from Palermo who greeted us warmly (even giving us a ride into town after her shift) at the ornate ticket booth on the end of the peninsula. Tickets are €10.50 for adults and €8.50 for kids (3-12) as well as seniors (60+), not a bad deal compared to Disneyland's $124/head during peak season, but this ain't Disneyland.
The buildings are original and the park charming, sitting on the cliffs overlooking the beautiful and scenic Anchor Bay. There is a small cast of characters that will pose for photo ops and put on a performance, filming a short version of the movie several times a day with guests as cast members. You can buy the DVD later if you wish.
The inside of some the buildings are furnished with a mish mash of furniture and props, some possibly from the film others are now souvenir shops, snack bars and even a small theatre where you can see how the film set came to be. There are play areas for kids, but the one at the top of the village seemed to be closed when we were there. One area of the park has a Christmas theme (we were there just before Christmas, but it seems to be there year round) with slightly animated elves, reindeer, and other holiday characters in the buildings.
As I said, it is an interesting diversion and a place to spend a couple of hours, but as theme parks go, this one is somewhat lacking. It is a gorgeous location, a small picturesque bay on the Northwest corner of the small Mediterranean island, and that alone may be worth the price of admission.
