Commentary: 'The Lincoln Project' ... A Republican Hoax or Socialist Propaganda?'

Commentary:  'The Lincoln Project' ... A Republican Hoax or Socialist Propaganda?'

by C.T. Sorrentino, LtCol, USAF (Ret)

I like to keep an open mind, so I watch CNN and shows like 'The Circus' and The Lincoln Project' to hear something other than Fox News' slanted truths. They keep me honest as times, but the vast majority of what I see and hear is anti-Trump, progressive gibberish.

I am sick and tired of so-called 'republicans' jumping ship for the socialist left or pretending to be 'conservative' while condoning and espousing views or acting on popular TV shows like 'The Circus' and 'The Lincoln Project' among many others.

Mark McKinnon, the supposed 'devil's advocate' pretends to be a lifelong republican on 'The Circus: Inside the Greatest Political Show on Earth' while nodding his head in agreement to his progressive democrat cronies, including John Heilemann, Jennifer Palmieri, and Alex Wagner among others.
McKinnon, who dresses in southwest-style urban cowboy costumes even though he was born in Boulder, Colorado, a socialist mecca within the progressive democrat State of Colorado, also interviews top republicans with equally appalling and progressive rigor.

On another hand, Steve Schmidt, co-founder of 'The Lincoln Project', also a Netflix television series, was forced to resign in February of 2021 after his mishandling of the behavior of fellow co-founder, John Weaver, who allegedly made predatory sexual advances toward young men in exchange for career enhancement assistance.

There was also serious financial mismanagement within The Lincoln Project board of directors which focused on the founders, including Schmidt, when it appeared that large amounts of 'donations' were being siphoned off into personal accounts and pet projects.
These hypocrite 'republicans' spent well over $60 million to defeat President Trump and elect 'Sleepy' Joe Biden, an incompetent, feeble-minded, moron, so it turns out that Trump's nickname hit the nail on the head after all.

In one scene, at their headquarters, also in Colorado, Schmidt stated: 'My penis is more erect than ever' in the presence of female co-workers when talking about Trump's 2020 final debate 'anger'. The comment was not only crude by even the leanest of standards, it would be considered sexual harassment in most organizations, leading to either severe reprimand or, most likely, immediate termination. Nobody blinked, not even the show's producers apparently.

The Lincoln Project also routinely called everything that Trump said 'lies', but a billboard company refused their anti-Trump ad late in the 2020 campaign, stating that 'Trump killed 200,000' during COVID because the billboard company only accepted fact-based messages.

How many have died of COVID while Biden has been president? There have been 411,359 COVID deaths in the US as of December 2021 while COVID Joe has been president and that was as of 10 months ago. Put up a billboard with those numbers Lincoln Project!

The Lincoln Project also claimed that Trump was irresponsible because he simply contracted COVID during his presidency, but I doubt they said the anything when 'Creepy Joe' got COVID, not once, but twice!
The scariest thing about Biden contracting COVID was the possibility that he might die, being high-risk due to his advanced age and cognitive decline, leading to incompetent and cackling Vice President Kamala Harris being sworn in as the 47th President of the United States of America ... WHAT A FUCKING NIGHTMARE ... PLEASE DON'T DIE JOE, PLEASE FINISH YOUR TERM!

These holier than thou so-called republicans and Trump haters should be ashamed of themselves for supporting and helping to elect Joe Biden, a man who left Americans and patriotic Afghanis behind to die in Afganistan at the hands of the Taliban after ignoring sound advice from the Joint Chiefs of Staff and pulling out of Bagram Air Base in the middle of the night.

Additionally, Biden has ruined our great nation, making us dependent on foreign oil while doubling gas prices; depleted our strategic oil reserves for political gain; increased our deficit with his 'Build Back Better', 'Green New Deal', and attempted student debt forgiveness handouts while plummeting us into a recession and the worst inflation in 40 years; and is a worldwide embarrassment, alienating our allies and unable to string together a coherent sentence when he is not focused on reading from a teleprompter. Hail to the Chief? To HELL with this Chief!

Trump was an excellent president until the end when he should have condemned the January 6th attack on the Capitol immediately and sniveled about voting fraud for far too long.

President Trump made America energy independent for the first time ever; laid the groundwork for the strongest economy in history; recognized Jerusalem as the capitol of Israel; stood up to Iran, Russia, China, North Korea and other nations so that they dare not think of pulling any shenanigans on his watch, yet met with North Korea's leader for the first time ever as well as forging strong, amicable relationships with the leaders of Russia, China, and allies alike, ensuring they knew they had better not mess with the US of A; strengthened our military; and supported America's veterans among many other achievements.

I do not particularly like Donald Trump, he is a narcissist and not a particularly nice man, but his goal from the start was to go down in history as the best president in American history, something he may have achieved if it were not for January 6th, too much focus on voting fraud (although I can guarantee it went on as the dem's took advantage of COVID restrictions - do you think they were so 'conservative' regarding lockdowns because they care about people?), and the constant lies and attacks on him by the mainstream media (CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, etc., etc., etc. ...) and wolves in sheep's clothing like Mitt Romney, The Lincoln Project, and Mark McKinnon among many, many others.

I will likely vote for Trump again if given the chance because, even though not completely altruistic, he has our nation's best interests in mind and can get this country back on-track after the debacle that has been Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Bernie Sanders, AOC and 'The Squad' (even though they have accomplished absolutely nothing), and numerous others.

Socialism just does not work as I can tell you from experience, just ask the Portuguese, Chinese, Cubans, Laotians, Vietnamese, Indians, Nicaraguans, Sri Lankans, and so on.

Socialized medicine is all smoke and mirrors no matter what all of the oblivious, granola crunching, Kool Aid drinking progressives tell you. Do you want to wait for six months or more to see an oncologist after you are told you have cancer? Move to a country with socialized medicine! Do you want to wait over a month for an 'emergency' visit from a specialist to check on your housebound 82 year-old mother, suffering from a stroke and recovering from a broken hip? Move to a country with socialized medicine! I have lived in three countries with socialized medicine and can tell you that you are delusional if you think that is the answer to America's healthcare problems, but that is a completely different topic altogether.

Enough of this madness, VOTE REPUBLICAN in the 2022 mid-terms and in 2024, let's really make America great again, get inflation and gas prices under control, and ensure psychopaths like Vladimir Putin do not invade sovereign countries, ever again ... HOOAH!

Omaha, NE: Joe's Cool, But Chloe Is "THE BOMB"!

Joe’s Collectibles

1125 Jackson St
Omaha, NE 68102
Old Market, Downtown
Phone number: (402) 612-1543

Joe is a nice guy and plays good music, but Chloe, his dog, is the star of this show.

Not easy to find, Joe's is down a back alley just south of Jackson Street and behind Jackson Street Tavern (see my review) in the Old Market area, so just follow the signs.

Dark and somewhat disorganized, you will find anything from treasures and trash in this massive collection of stuff. Clothes, books, knick-knacks, VHS, 8-track and cassette tapes ... you name it, Joe's got it! And the prices are very reasonable. I paid just 50¢ each for 5 cassette tapes and my wife paid only $3 for two antique books.
The highlight of the visit was Joe's dog Chloe. She sits on top of the counter and accepts hugs and stroking from virtually any stranger. She even wears glasses and poses for photos with customers, having been featured in an October 2016 Omaha magazine ("Encounter") spread. Chloe gives hugs and otherwise accepts all of the affection you can muster, so stop by to see Chloe (she's 12) if nothing else.

Letter To Vice-President Joe Biden: Attack on Military Retiree COLA and Disabled-Vet's Business

This has little to do with either Travel or Value, but is important to me and thought I would share it with my readers. I sent the following letter to Vice-President Biden and it is self-explanatory:

January 15, 2014

Dear Vice-President Biden,

I am a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel, 80% disabled Veteran, and service-disabled veteran-owned small business owner. I am tired of this administration's anti-Veteran/military agenda and lack of concern and response to whistleblower retaliation against me by the Department of Interior.

The fact that military retiree COLAs were targeted for 1% per year reduction until age 62 is wrong! Your retirement, the retirements of Congress, and the retirement of DoD civilians like Sharon Hallinan, the Department of Interior contracting officer who retaliated against me and ruined my business, we're not targeted, but those of us who defended our country for 20+ years were?

Why are the millions of dollars being wasted by Government agencies and contractors each year not targeted BEFORE the pensions of the brave men and women who dedicated their lives to our Nation's freedom?

I was targeted for whistleblower retaliation by the Department of Interior after reporting gross fraud, waste, and abuse in the Military Family Life Consultant (MFLC) program in the tens of millions of dollars annually. I complained to the Department of Interior Contracting Officer, Interior Business Center, in January of last year and two days later my $50K MFLC contract was cancelled. Not only did I lose much needed income, she fabricated lies, defaming my character and ruining the reputation of my business, leading to my business being ruined and the loss of our home and half of our possessions.

I filed complaints with the DoI and DoD IGs, but was ignored. My Congressman, Sam Graves, and Senators Blunt and McCaskill blew me off as did your boss President Obama.

How is it that military retirees are the FIRST ONES TARGETED when it comes time to reduce spending? Why are government agencies and contractors allowed to defraud our Government and taxpayers, wasting hundreds of millions of dollars each year with impunity? How can a Government agency get away with illegally canceling a contract and ruining a service-disabled veteran-owned small business? I will continue to pursue this until those responsible are held accountable and am contacting you because I believe you are one of the few in Washington with the INTEGRITY and persistence to take action. I hope I am right Mr. Vice-President.

God bless you, your family, and our United States of America!

PostScript: Representative Paul Ryan (R - WI) and Senator Patty Murray (D - WA) initiated the bill in Congress and IN ALL LIKELIHOOD NEVER SERVED A DAY IN UNIFORM. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that both Rep. Ryan and Senator Murray NOT BE RE-ELECTED OR ELECTED TO A HIGHER OFFICE due to their contempt for our military and Veterans and the cowardly act of reducing retiree entitlements BEFORE addressing far bigger problems such as the GROSS FRAUD and WASTE endemic in government and government contracting.

UPDATE: Rancho Grande Cantina (Parkville, MO) ... Disappointing!

Rancho Grande Cantina UPDATE

Price: $$$$$ - All entrees below $15

(816) 505-9097
11015 NW Hwy 45
Parkville,MO 64152

Rancho Grande in Parkville is a weekly staple in our house. Yes, of course it is Americanized Mexican, but we are in America after all. If you have a craving for inexpensive, quality food, this USED TO BE THE PLACE. I have been a customer for five years and have continued to go back week after week, but that could soon change!

You would think that customers who come back week after week after week, particularly ones who have a restaurant and food blog, would be known by name, perhaps greeted with more than indifference, but that is not the case at Rancho Grande Cantina.

The food is good, normally consistent, but that has changed recently.  For example, on their "Fajita Special" night a few months back, I sat in the bar and had some of the worst service in recent memory. On the back of many employee's shirts is the phrase "I know Joe", referring to the alleged owner, a guy named "Joe" apparently. Well, Joe was sitting in the bar with several of his cronies and my waiter seemed more focused on making Joe happy than any of his customers.  Joe and his pals were knocking back the beers while I sat, and sat, and sat, and waited for my appetizer, then dinner, when my waiter was more interested in making sure Joe and his pals were supplied with cold beer than taking care of his customers.

The fajitas, although discounted $3.oo, were more than 30% less than their normal portion AND BURNT. I could not get my waiters attention long enough to convey my displeasure because of his infatuation with Joe, so I went home and conveyed my displeasure via Yelp and Foursquare.  I was being lazy.

Today is Cinco de Mayo and, to my displeasure, an extremely busy night on a normally quiet Sunday, our normal Rancho Grande evening.  The hostess told us our wait would be 30  minutes, but we ended up waiting over an hour. When I saw that we were next on the list for a table, we went to the front and waited next to the hostess, thinking we would have a table in a few minutes.  A party of eight was seated before us even though they fell after us on the list, but that is not irregular.  What was irregular was the party of two, plus a child, that got our table because they were "friends' of the hostess.  I saw the man conversing with employees earlier, so I knew that he was either an employee or a friend of staff.  So when he and his family were seated, at our table, without being on "the list", I was unhappy, but because of the mass confusion, I kept my mouth shut.

Our server did not greet us for close to ten minutes after being seated and when we ordered, we let her know that my wife's quesadilla was cold last time she ordered it, asking her to please ensure that it was properly heated this evening. When it arrived, 30 minutes later, it was luke-warm. The young woman that dropped-off the plates ignored our pleas for assistance, pretending that she did not hear us as we attempted to point out the chill on the quesadilla.  Taking several minutes to get the attention of our server, we finally let her know that the meal was cold and finally received our complete meals ten minutes later.

All the while, Joe, whom we still do not know after five years of weekly visits, was sucking down a beer by the bar, ignoring his customers and the horrible service we were receiving.

We have spent literally thousands of dollars at Rancho Grande in the five years we have lived in Kansas City.  I enjoy the food and some of the servers recognize us although none even have any idea what our names are.  I would expect a little more of a business whose business is customer service, but customer service seems to be a thing of the past, so why should I be disappointed?

Joe, whom I still do not know, even though I have been eating at his restaurant every week for five years, should be ashamed for his apathy toward guests and his propensity to suck down beers rather than  ensure his customers get the service and quality we deserve. I do not expect, nor would I accept, special treatment because I am a food critic.  But I am a paying customer and would expect that our loyalty to his business would at least be appreciated, something we have not felt in five years of eating at Rancho Grande. Maybe it is time to find a proprietor and restaurant that appreciates our hard earned money and loyalty.

In all, Rancho Grande in Parkville WAS an excellent choice for quality American-Mexican food with large portions at a reasonable price, but if you want to be appreciated ... go elsewhere!

CombatCritic gives Rancho Grande Cantina in Parkville 5 (used to be 7) out of 10 BOMBS. Bombs are good!
